EDGE Microwave in Turkey seeks a Senior Embedded Software Design Engineer to drive embedded software development for aerospace platforms, taking architectural ownership from requirements to production. The role demands strong C/C++ skills, experience with AMD SoC platforms, embedded Linux, and hardware/software integration in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Electrical, Computer or Electronics Engineering with embedded focus.
• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong C/C++ programming for embedded systems, including debugging and testing.
• Experience with AMD SoC platforms, FSBL, U-Boot, bootloaders and PetaLinux.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux application, system and/or kernel development.
• Experience with multi-threaded/multi-process software development and high reliability systems.
• Hardware/software integration experience and good debugging skills.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

Job description

We develop cutting-edge RF, microwave and high-frequency technologies for aerospace applications. Our multidisciplinary team combines expertise in RF, microwave, electronics, embedded software and system engineering to develop high-performance products that meet demanding requirements for reliability, size, weight, power consumption and environmental performance.

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Design Engineer to take a key role in multidisciplinary R&D projects involving advanced embedded, digital and RF/MW technologies are developed to be used in Turkey's and the world's leading avionic platforms .

This is a hands-on engineering role for a highly motivated professional who is comfortable taking technical ownership, solving complex embedded software challenges and driving software development from architecture and implementation through system integration, verification and production.

The Ideal Fit:

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, with a focus on embedded systems.
• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong C/C++ programming experience for embedded systems, including development, debugging and testing.
• Experience with AMD SoC platforms, including FSBL, U-Boot, bootloaders, PetaLinux, emulators and debuggers.
• Good knowledge of embedded Linux application, system and/or kernel development.
• Experience with multi-threaded and/or multi-process software development.
• Experience developing high-reliability embedded systems.
• Background in embedded software development for microcontrollers, microprocessors and/or SoC-based platforms.
• Hands-on experience with hardware/software integration and system bring-up.
• Good understanding of computer architecture, processors, memory architectures and embedded system fundamentals.
• Experience with communication and peripheral interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART and CAN.
• Familiarity with high-speed interfaces and related concepts such as DDR, LVDS, SERDES, clock domains and interrupts.
• Profiency with compilers, debuggers, integrated development environments and version control systems.
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal analyzers for debugging and validation.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and take ownership of technical tasks.
• Good written and spoken English.

Additional Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with RF, microwave, analog and mixed-signal hardware and their operational principles.
• Understanding of high-frequency circuits, digital/analog modulation schemes and active RF/MW components.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, avionics and/or space projects.
• Familiarity with system-level verification, validation and HW/SW co-design methodologies.

About the Role

As a Senior Embedded Software Design Engineer, you will be involved in the complete lifecycle of embedded software development, from requirements analysis and software architecture through implementation, hardware/software integration, testing, debugging and productization.

This position requires in-depth technical expertise to design and develop embedded software blocks. Position requires candidate with a demonstrated track record of designing and developing multifunctional embedded software architectures, which require use of highly developed skills and innovation.

• Design, develop, integrate, test and document embedded software modules and systems using C/C++.
• Take technical ownership of embedded software development from requirements analysis and architecture through implementation, integration, verification and production.
• Participate in requirements analysis and contribute to defining software architectures, interfaces and design approaches considering system, hardware, performance and other technical constraints.
• Develop embedded software for processors, microcontrollers and SoC-based platforms, including application, system and low-level software components.
• Develop and integrate drivers and software interfaces for hardware peripherals and communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART and CAN.
• Perform HW/SW co-design, system bring-up, integration and validation activities in close collaboration with hardware and FPGA design teams.
• Develop functional and diagnostic test software, troubleshoot and debug design, implementation and test issues, and deliver reliable solutions.
• Prepare and maintain software architecture, design, test and technical documentation, including software architecture diagrams and state diagrams.
• Collaborate across hardware, digital design, RF/MW and system engineering teams to develop optimized hardware-software solutions and recommend improvements to existing technologies and processes.
• Participate in field testing, system integration and validation activities, and be flexible to travel when required.
