Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Turkiye seeks an experienced R&D Senior Design Electrical Engineer to join the Distribution Transformers Engineering Standardization team. You will be the technical expert for liquid-filled transformer electrical design, developing StarLiquid standards and coordinating with factories and tech teams to deliver safe, reliable, and standardized transformer solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience designing liquid-filled distribution transformers using CDS Electrical, NG CDSe, or similar tools.
Knowledge of StarLiquid, StarX, Design Anywhere/Manufacture Anywhere principles, or equivalent standardization platforms.
Experience with design-to-value, value engineering, cost optimization, or product-platform development; global standard development and audits.
Familiarity with transformer manufacturing processes and electrical-to-mechanical design interfaces; ability to support distributed factories.
Experience with Azure DevOps or similar change-management systems; familiarity with SharePoint and engineering documentation systems.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Willingness to travel about 10-20% annually.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain StarLiquid electrical technical standards.
Review transformer designs and calculations for electrical performance and cost.
Evaluate factory designs for cost, material, and performance optimization.
Process change requests and develop technically validated solutions.
Support implementation and testing in CDS, Electrical, and related systems.
Ensure compliance with StarLiquid requirements and international standards (IEC, IEEE, GB, CSA).
Provide training and engineering support to global factories.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and software teams.
Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
