Job summary

ColendiBank seeks an experienced Senior Backend Engineer in its Architecture Team to design scalable, secure backend services for digital banking platforms. You will lead backend development, system integration, and architectural decisions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include building RESTful services, integrating KYC and onboarding systems, and driving modernization toward cloud-native architectures with observability and resilience at the forefront.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience, preferably in banking or fintech.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and selecting appropriate storage.
• Containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Solid testing practices (unit/integration/contract) and strong observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Architecture team to design scalable backend services for digital banking platforms.
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, API gateways, and integration services.
• Integrate banking services with core systems and third-party platforms (KYC, onboarding, campaigns).
• Contribute to architectural decisions and uphold engineering standards for modern Java/cloud-native systems.
• Ensure data security, auditability, and robust exception handling across distributed services.
• Write clean, testable code and improve systems with observability and resiliency in mind.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge across teams.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to boost productivity while maintaining quality.
