Assignments combine online consultations with in-person appointments in Istanbul. Work is arranged according to patient needs and your availability, rather than a fixed weekly schedule.

Responsibilities

• Interpret accurately during online doctor consultations and in-person medical appointments.
• Accompany Russian-speaking patients during consultations and help them communicate their questions and concerns.
• Support patients with X-rays, diagnostic tests and related coordination following consultations.
• Assist with follow-up communication in Russian when further support is needed.
• Convey information from doctors and the care team fully and accurately, without adding personal medical opinions or advice.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and a professional, attentive approach throughout each assignment.

Requirements

• Advanced Russian proficiency, with strong spoken communication and comprehension.
• Proficiency in Turkish or English sufficient to interpret accurately between Russian-speaking patients and the clinical team.
• Availability to attend in-person assignments in Istanbul.
• A calm, respectful and reassuring manner when communicating with patients.
• Reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.
• Sound judgement in handling sensitive personal and medical information.
• Native-level Russian and previous experience in medical interpreting, patient coordination or healthcare settings are preferred.

Compensation and working arrangements

Assignments typically pay USD 40–100, with the fee reflecting the duration and scope of interpreting and coordination support required. Responsibilities and payment are agreed before each assignment.

This is a freelance, assignment-based role. Where possible, subsequent assignments involving the same patient are offered to the same interpreter or coordinator to maintain continuity.
