Job summary

Mercor is seeking a bilingual Turkish STEM Expert (PhD) for AI Safety on a remote contract. You will write expert-level prompts in Turkish across scientific topics and help ensure model outputs are accurate and safe.

You will evaluate responses, apply guidelines, and collaborate with AI research teams to improve Turkish technical understanding. Immediate start; Türkiye or MENA region preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD required in chemistry, biology, or closely related field.
• Native or near-native fluency in Turkish and business-level written English.
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.
• Sound judgment around scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.
• Based in Türkiye or the wider MENA region (preferred).
• Expertise in radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, or radiation physics (preferred).
• Depth in a field such as organic synthesis, molecular biology, or virology (preferred).
• Experience with chemical safety, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling (preferred).
• Experience reviewing or grading technical content (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Write expert-level prompts in Turkish across specialized scientific topics.
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Work independently and asynchronously to ensure model safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with AI research teams to improve model understanding of Turkish technical topics.
