Key Qualifications
Health, Safety & Leadership
- Demonstrates an uncompromising commitment to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), consistently placing safe operations above all other priorities.
- Leads by example in promoting a strong safety culture across all operational activities.
- Hands-on experience with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), energy isolation, risk assessment, and safe work practices.
- Strong understanding of process safety and operational risk management within heavy industrial environments.
Technical Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience within cement, lime, calcination, or other high-temperature process industries.
- Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify cause-and-effect relationships between process parameters and develop sustainable solutions through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Experience in one or more of the following operations:
Lime Calcination Plants
Cement Clinker Rotary Kilns
Dolomite Calcination Plants
Magnesite Calcination Plants
Other continuous high-temperature rotary kiln or thermal processing facilities
- Strong technical knowledge of:
Rotary Kilns
Preheater & Cyclone Systems
Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP)
Induced Draft (ID) Fans
Primary Air Fans
Natural Gas Combustion Systems
Burners
Lime Coolers
Auxiliary Process Equipment
- Experience with calcination processes, combustion systems, dust collection systems, and thermal process optimization.
- Proven experience in kiln performance monitoring, process optimization, production efficiency, and energy-saving initiatives.
- Knowledge of alternative fuel applications and combustion optimization.
- Ability to evaluate refractory performance, kiln mechanical behavior, and process interactions.
- Experience working with DCS/SCADA process control systems.
- Strong background in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and HSE teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize rotary kiln and calcination process performance to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor production performance through process data analysis and advanced process control tools.
- Lead continuous improvement and energy optimization initiatives.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support production teams by providing technical expertise and troubleshooting process issues.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Reliability teams to maximize equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE standards and operational procedures.
- Contribute to achieving operational, quality, environmental, and sustainability objectives.
