Job summary

MY Executive is seeking a Factory Director based in Çorlu to lead production, maintenance, investment and OHS strategies. You will report directly to the General Manager and drive capacity expansion, technology renewal and digitalization across plants.

Responsibilities include ensuring targets on quality, cost and delivery, coordinating with supply chain, sales and logistics, and advancing continuous improvement with Lean/MES/SCADA knowledge. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in production, maintenance and investment management.
  • Advanced English proficiency with strong communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, ERP and MRP systems; experience with MES/SCADA is a plus.

Job description

Our client, a leading company in production sector, is looking for a Factory Director reporting directly to General Manager to be based in Çorlu.

Role Profile
Çorlu Production, Maintenance, Investment and OHS Strategies
  • Develop technical operations strategies, investment plans and maintenance policies in line with the company's overall objectives.
  • Plan and execute capacity expansion, technology renewal and digitalization investments across all plants.
  • Manage projects aimed at improving production efficiency, energy savings and quality standards.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility for new machinery and equipment investments; coordinate procurement, installation and commissioning processes.
Managing Production Performanc e
  • Ensure that all production facilities at the Çorlu plant meet targets related to quality, cost, volume and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure production plans are aligned and coordinated with supply chain, sales and logistics processes.
  • Regularly analyze scrap rates, efficiency indicators and production KPIs; implement improvement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO, CE, TSE and similar regulations.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and develop technical solutions to eliminate them.
Research, Development and Monitoring
  • Conduct research, feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses related to production; identify and propose products suitable for in-house production.
  • Monitor technological developments, innovations in machinery, materials and production methods; conduct or commission necessary studies.
  • Develop systems for the most cost-effective storage and transportation of products.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and lead improvement studies, operational analyses and process optimization initiatives; implement and monitor improvements.
  • Ensure R&D activities are carried out effectively and economically to provide competitive advantage in production techniques and products.
  • Support the development of technical know-how within production units.
Managing Investment and Continuous Improvement Activities
  • Design and implement investment projects aligned with the company's growth and modernization strategies.
  • Contribute to decision-making processes by preparing feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses and payback calculations.
  • Ensure approved projects are executed in line with budget, timeline and quality targets.
  • Promote company-wide awareness of continuous improvement, efficiency, energy management and sustainability.
Budgeting and Planning
  • Collaborate with relevant managers to obtain advance information on sales targets and forecasts; ensure necessary production preparations are made.
  • Prepare production programs in coordination with the supply chain to ensure optimal utilization of capacity and resources.
  • Oversee material requirement planning and ensure availability of raw materials, auxiliary materials and operational supplies.
  • Ensure implementation of planned maintenance and repair practices at the plant.
  • Provide necessary data for department budgeting processes in a timely manner.
  • Monitor activities to ensure alignment with approved budgets and plans; prevent budget overruns.
Managing Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHS & EMS) Activities
  • Oversee OHS practices across all facilities; define overall OHS strategy and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with OHS and environmental regulations; conduct risk assessments and manage corrective/preventive actions.
  • Ensure provision, proper use and supervision of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Plan and monitor periodic employee health examinations.
  • Manage emergency plans and drills; take decisions to halt production when necessary.
  • Ensure full compliance with workplace health and safety rules.
  • Organize and deliver relevant training programs when required.
  • Ensure provision, proper use and control of necessary equipment.
  • Ensure periodic technical inspections of the plant are carried out.
  • Take decisions to stop production in extraordinary situations when required.
Ensuring Proper Documentation and Record Keeping
  • Ensure all records related to maintenance, production, investment and quality are accurate, traceable and up to date.
Managing Team Performance and Organizational Effectiveness
  • Plan and implement organizational improvements to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Clearly define job descriptions and monitor execution; take corrective actions where needed.
  • Propose and implement role and responsibility changes when necessary.
  • Foster a culture that supports adaptability, innovation and creativity.
  • Assign tasks, responsibilities and authority within the team.
  • Ensure adherence to work instructions and address performance gaps through regular monitoring.
  • Ensure coordination among team members and address operational issues proactively.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set targets and monitor progress.
  • Plan training and contribute to career development of team members.
  • Identify workforce needs and support recruitment processes in collaboration with HR.
Communication and Coordination
  • Ensure alignment of all team members with company production procedures and policies.
  • Support onboarding processes and facilitate adaptation of new employees.
  • Contribute to workforce planning in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Communicate information from senior management and other departments to the team.
  • Escalate feedback, suggestions and issues from the team to relevant stakeholders.
  • Share updates, monitor implementation and keep employees informed.
  • Organize internal department meetings.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by management in line with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and Information Security requirements; contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of OHS measures within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Manage waste and ensure compliance with environmental regulations; support waste reduction initiatives.
Reporting and Monitoring
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on production, OHS, maintenance, investments, energy and efficiency to the General Manager.
  • Monitor quality records, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and customer complaints.
  • Analyze performance indicators regularly and report insights to management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in production, maintenance and investment management, preferably in heavy industry (cement, iron/steel, ceramics).
  • Proven ability to operate in line with the company's authority matrix, with the capability to make decisions on production stoppage, resource allocation and provide technical input in investment and project approval processes.
  • Advanced level of English proficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, ERP and MRP systems, with hands-on experience in digital production and maintenance management applications such as MES, SCADA or similar platforms.
