Job summary

Webasto Group is seeking a Modules Engineer Design to join our Engineering Department in Turkey. The role focuses on translating customer requirements into robust mechanical designs from concept to production, using Autodesk Inventor or CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE.

You will work on sheet metal, plastic injection molding and additive manufacturing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams globally. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of automotive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design / product development experience, preferably in automotive or similar industries.
• Advanced 3D CAD skills with strong experience in Autodesk Inventor and CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer specifications and CAD data to translate into feasible mechanical designs meeting quality, cost and timing targets.
• Develop designs from concept to serial production across the development lifecycle.
• Create 3D parts and assemblies using Inventor and CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Prepare production-ready 2D drawings with tolerances and GD&T.
• Develop manufacturable designs considering materials, tooling and assembly constraints.
• Support prototype builds and supplier discussions to improve designs.

We are looking for a Modules Engineer Design to join our Engineering Department.

Main Tasks:

• Analyze customer specifications, requirements and CAD data and translate them into feasible mechanical designs that meet customer and company targets in terms of quality, cost, performance, safety, reliability and project timing.
• Develop mechanical designs throughout the complete development lifecycle, from concept to serial production.
• Create 3D parts and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor and Catia V6 / 3DExperience.
• Design components considering sheet metal, thermoforming, plastic injection molding and additive manufacturing / 3D printing processes.
• Prepare production-ready 2D technical drawings, including tolerances and GD&T requirements.
• Develop manufacturable and cost-effective designs considering material, production, tooling and assembly constraints.
• Perform packaging, interface and clearance checks for components and assemblies.
• Support prototype and first-production builds and work with suppliers to improve designs according to manufacturing capabilities and feedback.
• Evaluate and implement engineering changes affecting mechanical design and related product data.
• Maintain CAD models, drawings and related technical data according to company CAD/PDM/PLM standards.
• Cooperate with System Engineering, Electrical, Validation, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Project Management, customers and suppliers throughout the development process.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required to support customer, supplier and testing activities.
• Report weekly to the manager on ongoing projects, activities and key actions.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design / product development experience, preferably in automotive, commercial vehicles, HVAC or similar industries.
• Advanced 3D CAD skills with strong experience in Autodesk Inventor and/or CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Strong knowledge of sheet-metal design and good knowledge of plastic injection molding and thermoforming design principles.
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing / 3D printing is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of 2D technical drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
• Experience in multi-part assemblies, packaging and mechanical integration.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, DFM/DFA and product cost drivers.
• Experience in prototype development, supplier technical discussions and engineering change management.
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Strong communication and technical presentation skills.
• Very good command of written and spoken English and ability to work with international customers, suppliers and engineering teams.
• Valid driving license.
• Currently residing in İzmir or Manisa, or willing to relocate to one of these locations.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
