Job summary

Webasto Group is seeking a Systems Engineer Development to join our Engineering Department in Turkey. The role focuses on analyzing customer requirements, translating them into HVAC system specifications, and leading the complete system architecture and validation across the development lifecycle.

You will coordinate with Mechanical Design, Electrical & Controls, and Validation teams to ensure high quality, cost-efficient, and reliable HVAC solutions, with travel to customer sites as needed and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC system or product development.
  • Good knowledge of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, heat transfer and HVAC system design principles.
  • Experience in HVAC system calculations, system sizing and component selection.
  • Experience in product validation, performance evaluation and engineering problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Select and optimize key HVAC components based on system requirements.
  • Take technical ownership of the complete HVAC system from concept to serial production.
  • Coordinate development with Mechanical Design, Electrical & Controls, Validation and cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Ensure the developed system meets quality, cost, performance, safety and timing targets.
  • Plan and conduct laboratory, vehicle and field validation activities and analyze results.
  • Support prototype builds, installations, commissioning and technical evaluations at customer sites.

We are looking for a Systems Engineer Development to join our Engineering Department.

Main Tasks:
  • Analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical system specifications.
  • Develop technical concepts and define the overall HVAC system architecture.
  • Perform HVAC system calculations, capacity analysis and component sizing to achieve the required performance, efficiency and reliability targets.
  • Select and optimize key HVAC components (e.g. compressor, heat exchangers, expansion valve, blower, fan) based on system requirements.
  • Take technical ownership of the complete HVAC system throughout the entire development lifecycle, from concept phase until start of serial production.
  • Coordinate the development of the complete HVAC system by working closely with Mechanical Design, Electrical & Controls, Validation and other cross-functional teams such as, manufacturing, planning, purchasing, quality to ensure successful project execution.
  • Ensure the developed system meets customer and internal targets regarding quality, cost, performance, safety, reliability and project timing.
  • Plan, coordinate, perform and evaluate laboratory, vehicle and field validation activities, analyze test results and initiate necessary design improvements.
  • Support prototype builds, customer installations, commissioning activities and technical evaluations at customer sites when required.
  • Conduct system design reviews, support technical decision-making and lead engineering change activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support technical problem solving, root cause analysis and engineering change activities during development and industrialization.
  • Support supplier selection, technical evaluation and supplier development activities for HVAC components.
  • Act as a core member of the project team and support the Lead Engineer Development in delivering projects from built-to-print solutions to full product development.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC system or product development.
  • Good knowledge of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, heat transfer and HVAC system design principles.
  • Experience in HVAC system calculations, system sizing and component selection.
  • Experience in product validation, performance evaluation and engineering problem solving.
  • Good understanding of automotive product development processes and system engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of engineering methodologies such as CAE and Design of Experiments (DoE) is an advantage.
  • Ability to review and understand CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Good communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of product cost drivers and manufacturing constraints.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel for customer support, prototype builds and validation activities.
  • Living in or willing to relocate to İzmir or Manisa.
  • No military obligation for male candidates.
