Job summary

İTAMEKS OTOMOTİV is seeking a Materials Engineer to join our production-focused team in Istanbul. You will analyze raw materials, define specifications, and help develop new materials for automotive interior floor components.

The role involves evaluating suppliers, supporting trials, and driving cost reductions while collaborating with Purchasing, Production, and Quality teams. Fresh graduates welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials, Textile, Mechatronics)
• 0–2 years of professional experience
• Good command of English
• Strong interest in manufacturing, material technologies, and production processes
• Strong analytical mindset and numerical analysis abilities
• Cost, efficiency, and continuous improvement mindset
• Willingness to work actively on the production floor and learn hands-on
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Ability to work well in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze technical characteristics, applications, and manufacturing impacts of materials such as TPE, rubber, and textiles
• Support material specification definitions for new products and processes
• Participate in development of new and alternative raw materials and follow through to serial production
• Research alternative materials and suppliers and evaluate technically and commercially
• Collect supplier quotations and prepare price/quality/lead-time comparisons
• Contribute to cost reduction and localization projects
• Support supplier evaluation, sampling, and implementation with relevant departments
• Monitor market developments and prepare relevant analyses
• Analyze manufacturing processes, machinery, and material-process interactions
• Assist in efficiency improvements, Lean, Kaizen, and SMED activities
• Support takt time, cycle time, lead time analyses
• Participate in production line improvement activities
• Assist in evaluating new machinery, molds, fixtures, and equipment
• Research new technologies and feasibility studies
• Support production trials and process result assessments
• Prepare technical and commercial comparisons and cost analyses
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
