Job summary

Avesoro Resources is seeking a Material Planning Engineer to strengthen inventory and material control at New Liberty Gold Mine, Liberia. The role focuses on aligning material scheduling with production and maintenance plans to ensure continuous operations.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams, maintain accurate inventory records, forecast demand, and optimize procurement in a rotating on-site environment at the mine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).
• 1–3 years in material planning, inventory management, or related functions.
• Experience in mining operations or industrial supply chain management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute material scheduling strategies aligned with production and maintenance plans.
• Ensure inventory records accuracy and manage material flow across the site.
• Review purchase requisitions and coordinate with Procurement for timely orders.
• Combine on-hand inventory, outstanding orders and consumption to calculate material requirements.
• Prepare short- and long-term material demand forecasts considering trends.
• Work with Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse to ensure material availability.
• Monitor usage trends and adjust planning parameters accordingly.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.
• Compile and distribute weekly and monthly planning and inventory reports.

As part of our growing operations, we are looking for a Material Planning Engineer to strengthen our inventory and material control practices at New Liberty Gold Mine.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute effective material scheduling strategies in alignment with production and maintenance plans.
• Ensure the accuracy of inventory records and manage material flow throughout the site.
• Review quantities stated in purchase requisitions and coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely release of orders.
• Combine data from on-hand inventory, outstanding orders, and consumption rates to calculate accurate material requirements.
• Prepare short- and long-term material demand forecasts, considering operational needs and seasonal trends.
• Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability.
• Monitor material usage trends and adjust planning parameters accordingly.
• Identify process inefficiencies or bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.
• Compile and distribute weekly and monthly planning and inventory reports.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or related functions.
• Prior experience in mining operations, equipment maintenance, or industrial supply chain management is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) or ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Understanding of supply chain processes, warehouse operations, and production planning cycles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
