As Griffin Consultancy, we are searching for a Local Account Manager (LAM) for one of our business partners who is a global leader in the steel industry.
The Local Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with key local customers, ensuring commercial performance, customer satisfaction, and effective coordination across internal teams and customer organizations. The role will play a key part in managing sales plans, customer requirements, order books, contracts, supply chain performance, and commercial issues, while identifying opportunities to create additional value for both the customer and the business.
The position is based in İstanbul OR Bursa and will report to Luxembourg. The LAM will be responsible for automotive OEMs in Turkey and will work closely with cross-functional teams including Customer Teams, Client Technical Support, Supply Chain, and other relevant stakeholders.
The ideal candidate shall;
- Manage and develop day-to-day relationships with assigned customers, acting as the primary commercial point of contact,
- Organize and participate in regular customer meetings and visits, ensuring effective follow-up and documentation of customer requirements and actions,
- Develop and monitor annual and quarterly sales plans, including volume and pricing agreements,
- Analyze customer value chains and identify opportunities to improve service and create additional value,
- Coordinate supply chain activities, monitor delivery performance, and manage urgent or emergency orders when required,
- Prepare commercial offers and support the implementation and management of customer contracts,
- Handle commercial aspects of customer claims and coordinate the implementation of agreed actions,
- Monitor customer payments, credit limits, working capital, stocks, and overdue receivables,
- Collect and analyze market intelligence, including customer production and consumption trends, market prices, and competitive developments,
- Contribute to commercial planning, budgeting, and business development initiatives.
- University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field,
- Relevant experience in account management, sales, commercial management, or customer relationship management, preferably within the steel, metals, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors,
- Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills,
- Good understanding of sales planning, pricing, contracts, order management, and supply chain processes,
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate customer and market insights into business opportunities,
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across different functions and organizations,
- People management experience, including experience managing back-office or customer-facing teams, will be an advantage,
- Strong market and product knowledge, preferably within the steel or related industrial sectors,
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and SAP,
- Willingness to travel as required,
