Job summary

Obilet is hiring a Legal Counsel to support the legal team across contracting, onboarding, disputes, and regulatory monitoring. You will draft and negotiate agreements, track notifications, and translate documents between Turkish and English.

The role requires a Law degree, strong Turkish writing, fluent English, and excellent time management. A hybrid work model and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law is required.
• Strong Turkish writing and English proficiency will be tested.
• Willingness to translate complex documents both directions.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate agreements and notices with the legal team.
• Coordinate legal notifications and track responses with support from a paralegal.
• Conduct onboarding checks for new agreements and assist in disputes and litigation.
• Perform legal research and present clear memoranda.
• Monitor regulatory actions by Turkish authorities and regulators.
• Communicate with external parties and record action items.
• Prepare Turkish–English translations of legal documents.

Main responsibilities:

• Contributing to the first drafts of agreements and notices, taking part in negotiations alongside the legal team, and maintaining the resulting documents in the team's inventory;

• Coordinating legal notifications and maintaining the notification tracking table, with the support of the paralegal; preparing draft responses to notifications;

• Carrying out the required checks during the onboarding of newly executed agreements;

• Supporting the legal team in disputes and litigation;

• Conducting legal research on legislation and regulatory practice, and presenting the findings in clear written memoranda;

• Monitoring new regulations and decisions of relevant regulatory bodies, such as the Turkish Advertising Board and the Personal Data Protection Authority;

• Supporting communication with external parties on routine follow-up and documentation processes, and keeping a record of the resulting action items;

• Preparing Turkish–English translations of legal documents relating to the matters you work on.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable law school, with a strong academic record;

• Strong writing skills in both Turkish (will be tested) and English (to be demonstrated with a valid IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent certificate, if available; otherwise tested during the selection process), and a keen interest in developing negotiation skills;

• The ability and willingness to translate complex legal documents in both directions (will be tested);

• Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (will be tested);

• Close attention to detail;

• The ability to work to strict deadlines, prioritise tasks and manage time effectively;

• The ability to work in a dynamic environment and within flexible working hours;

• Sound business ethics, a willingness to learn and the ambition to step up;

• Previous internship experience gained during law school is a plus.
