Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Go and/or Node.js (TypeScript).
• Understanding of backend architecture, service design, data modeling, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing and maintaining REST and/or gRPC APIs for web, mobile, and desktop clients.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and data access patterns.
• Experience with messaging/event-driven architectures for ingesting and processing data.
• Experience building/backend services that communicate with connected devices and IoT protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the backend engineering team in delivering scalable services.
• Provide technical direction and own backend architecture and API design decisions.
• Establish and maintain backend development standards and coding guidelines.
• Participate in system design, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, Mobile, Desktop, Firmware, DevOps, QA teams to translate requirements into APIs.
• Own backend development planning, prioritization, and delivery with stakeholders.
• Ensure reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency of backend services in production.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, deployment strategies, and infrastructure needs.
• Apply security and compliance best practices across services, data handling, and access control.
• Mentor engineers and support hiring/onboarding activities as needed.
