Job summary

Turkiye Technology Center in Kartal, Istanbul is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer with 1–5 years of experience to work on metal AM processes, including LPBF and DED, in a program linked with GE MTC and TEI.

You will develop and apply simulation models to predict distortion, residual stress, and thermal behaviour, while supporting DfAM decisions and collaborating with design, manufacturing, materials and quality teams to deliver robust AM solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace or related field.
• 1–5 years in additive manufacturing or related manufacturing engineering.
• Hands-on knowledge of metal AM processes (LPBF/DED or similar).
• Experience with build simulation for distortion, residual stress, or thermal modelling.
• Understanding materials behaviour and process‑structure‑property relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support AM build simulation activities for new and existing components.
• Develop and apply simulation models to predict distortion and thermal behaviour.
• Partner with design and manufacturing to improve build layouts and strategies.
• Correlate simulation outputs with build results and test data to improve models.
• Drive root cause analysis for build failures and process instability.
• Support development of best practices and workflows for AM simulation.
• Provide technical recommendations to reduce development time, scrap and rework.
• Contribute to qualification and industrialisation efforts for AM parts.
• Document methods, results and recommendations in technical reports.
• Collaborate with materials, design, manufacturing, quality, suppliers and research teams.
