Additive Manufacturing Project Engineer
An additive manufacturing system only creates value when it produces the right part, reliably, in the customer's hands. At Voksel 3D, this role makes sure that happens.
As a Additive Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will be the technical link between what our customers in defense, aerospace, industrial manufacturing and medical need to produce and what our systems can deliver. If you want hands-on work across a wide range of AM technologies, with real impact on Türkiye's advanced manufacturing landscape, this role is for you.
About us:
Voksel 3D supplies advanced additive manufacturing systems across Türkiye: metal and polymer powder bed fusion systems, ultra-polymer FDM systems, 3D sand printers and ceramic printers. We support our customers from technology selection through installation, process qualification and series production.
What You'll Do
- Part assessment: Evaluate candidate parts for additive manufacturing, including technology and material selection, manufacturability, design optimization and the business case behind each part
- Design & build preparation: Apply DfAM to redesign existing parts and optimize new ones; prepare build files that deliver high-quality parts with minimum build time and maximum consistency
- Process & materials: Analyze print parameters and post-processing routes (including heat treatment) by evaluating mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy and surface finish; document parameters, build reports and work instructions
- Benchmarks & demos: Manage benchmark and sample parts needs that show customers what our technologies can do for their applications
- Customer & sales support: Take part in technical meetings with customers, provide input for proposals and feasibility studies, and prepare technical reports and presentations
- Ownership: Manage several projects in parallel, adapt to shifting priorities, close loops and hold yourself to a high standard of quality
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials Engineering
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in additive manufacturing (metal and/or polymer)
- Hands-on experience operating metal or polymer AM systems, preferably powder bed fusion
- Working knowledge of DfAM: you know how to make a part printable and worth printing
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred; Siemens NX or CATIA also welcome)
- Experience with build preparation software (e.g., Materialise Magics or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Understanding of metal and polymer material behavior, heat treatment and post-processing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable with ambiguity
- Good written and spoken English
- For male candidates, military service completed or exempted
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in defense, aerospace or medical manufacturing environments
- Experience with high-performance polymer FDM, sand or ceramic AM processes
- Experience with inspection methods (CMM, 3D scanning, CT)
- Experience with simulation or topology optimization tools
- Experience training or supporting customers on manufacturing equipment
Why This Role
Additive manufacturing is growing fast in Türkiye, especially in defense, aerospace and medical. As part of a small team, you will work hands-on with a broad range of technologies that most engineers only see one of. You'll build experience quickly, take on real responsibility early, and help shape how our customers adopt AM in production.
Work Environment
- Based on-site at our Esenyurt, Istanbul office
- Limited domestic and international travel might be required
