Job summary

PlusMinusOne is seeking an iOS Developer to shape the future of mobile apps with AI-in-the-loop. You will build native iOS apps using Swift, employ VIPER/MVVM/Clean Swift, and ensure robust UI with UIKit/SwiftUI in a single codebase. The role demands design excellence, CI/CD discipline, and ownership of shipped code.

You will join a hybrid team with offices in Istanbul and San Francisco, enjoy learning with agents, and contribute to high-quality, secure software used by millions worldwide.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of native iOS experience with Swift.
• Strong design fundamentals — OOP, design patterns, POP, SOLID.
• Experience with VIPER, MVVM and Clean Swift.
• Solid Swift Concurrency knowledge.
• Solid UIKit and SwiftUI — Combine a plus.
• Quality-gate: reviews, testing, CI/CD with evidence.
• Audit reflex for generated code — architecture, performance, security.
• Fluent Git — fast-moving codebase.
• Third-party SDK integration experience.
• BS/MS in CS, Eng or related, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop native iOS apps with AI in the loop end to end — spec tasks, orchestrate generation, own the final quality of everything that ships.
• Build and maintain the team’s development toolkit — skills, rules, instruction files, pipelines, automations.
• Act as the engineering quality gate — review AI- and human-written code, harden the architecture, keep guardrails sharp as models evolve.
• Guide non-engineers (PMs, designers) building with AI — unblock them, review their output, draw the prototype-vs-production line.
• Ship fast through our internal systems — run experiments, contribute to our automated testing and auto-fix infrastructure.
• Take part in technical design — analyze requirements, shape the approach, make the build-vs-generate call case by case.
• Work closely with product in an agile environment — reviews and pairing included, with humans and agents.
• Stay ahead of the AI-tooling curve — evaluate new models against our evals, measure impact on what ships, adopt what works.

PlusMinusOne is a mobile startup studio that focuses on developing and marketing its own apps that are used and loved by millions of people around the world. We have been building mobile products focused on Business, Photo & Video, and Education categories in the App Store mainly for the US market since 2016. And in each of these categories, our goal is the same:provide actual value to people with the best mobile user experience.

We’re in an exciting period of growth and are looking for IOS Developer who will help us shape the future of mobile.

What we are looking for:

• AI-native by default. You already build with agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code) every day — spec, generate, review, iterate. You know when not to trust the output, and you can explain every line you merge.
• A builder mindset. You build your own workflows, skills and pipelines to remove bottlenecks — for yourself and the team. Tooling gaps are yours to close, not to wait on.
• 1–4 years of proven native iOS experience with Swift.
• Strong design fundamentals — OOP, design patterns, POP, SOLID. With AI in the loop, you’re the one keeping the architecture honest.
• Experience with VIPER, MVVM and Clean Swift.
• Solid Swift Concurrency knowledge.
• Solid UIKit and SwiftUI — comfortable in both within one codebase, and clear on which to reach for. (Combine is a plus.)
• Custom UI and animation experience, with a genuine eye for UI & UX.
• A quality-gate reflex. Review, testing and CI/CD are how AI-speed output stays shippable. You give agents a pass/fail loop (tests, build, simulator) and demand evidence — not “tests pass” claims. Unit testing is a strong plus.
• An audit reflex for generated code — architecture, performance, security (auth, secrets, hallucinated dependencies). You own every line that ships, human- or agent-written.
• Fluent Git — branching and merging in a fast-moving, human-and-agent codebase.
• Third-party SDK integration experience (analytics, marketing, monetization etc.).
• Clear, well-documented code — your docs now serve teammates and agents.
• BS/MS in CS, Engineering or related — or equivalent practical experience. We care about what you ship.

Great bonus if you have:

Custom skills or agent tools, agent-driven simulator/UI test loops, spec-driven development, on-device AI frameworks.

• Work closely with product in an agile environment — reviews and pairing included, with humans and agents.
