Job summary

PlusMinusOne, a mobile startup studio, is seeking an exceptional UI/UX Designer to shape the future of mobile apps loved by millions. You will turn low- and high-fidelity ideas into complete interfaces, build design systems, and push UX with AI-enabled tooling in a fast-paced hybrid environment with offices in San Francisco and Istanbul.

You will collaborate with designers, PMs, growth marketers, engineers, and QA to deliver end-to-end designs, establish guidelines, and identify improvements

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating mobile UI/UX design across platforms.
• Experience with design systems and product thinking.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

PlusMinusOne is a mobile startup studio that focuses on developing and marketing its own apps that are used and loved by millions of people around the world. Our products collectively reach more than a half-millionnew users every month in the US market alone. Our team works in hybrid model with offices in San Francisco and Istanbul.

We have been building mobile products focused on Business, Photo & Video, and Education categories in the App Store mainly for the US market since 2016. And in each of these categories, our goal is the same:provide actual value to people with the best mobile user experience.

We’re in an exciting period of growth and are looking for an exceptional UI/UX Designer who will help us shape the future of mobile.

What we are looking for:

• Turn low- and high-fidelity ideas into complete user interfaces — layouts, color, typography, UI elements, micro-interactions and icons — increasingly with AI in the loop.
• Build and maintain your own design toolkit — reusable workflows, skills, prompts, components and pipelines — so you (and the whole team) ship faster.
• Work within functional, interaction and technical constraints iteratively across new product and feature phases, to land complete, comprehensive designs.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards — as living, reusable systems, not static documents.
• Contribute hands-on inside a multidisciplinary team of designers, PMs, growth marketers, engineers and QA — and, increasingly, agents.
• Identify product-improvement opportunities from user feedback and internal insights — and act on them.
• Stay ahead of design and AI‑tooling trends, and keep leveling yourself up as the craft shifts underneath us.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Transform low-fidelity/high-fidelity wireframes into user interfaces by designing screen layouts, color palettes, typography, user interface elements, micro-interactions, and icons.
• Understand and work with the limits of functional requirements, interaction behavior, and other design considerations iteratively throughout new product and feature design phases resulting in complete and comprehensive designs.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards
• Effectively working with and participating as a contributor to a multi‑disciplinary team that includes UX Designers, product managers, growth marketers, software engineers, and QA engineers.
• Identifying new product improvement opportunities based on user feedback and insights from internal teams.
• Following new design trends, staying current in your field, and improving yourself for staying ahead of the curve in this competitive market.
