Job summary

Hitachi Energy Vietnam is seeking a senior Supply Planner to lead end-to-end planning for engineer-to-order projects. You will manage long horizons, build capacity models, and drive materials readiness with suppliers and internal teams to meet project timelines.

You will apply Lean/Six Sigma, use SAP S/4 and BI tools for decision support, and mentor planners while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
  • 5–7 years in supply planning, material management, or S&OP preferably in industrial equipment manufacturing
  • Strong analytical skills; proficient with ERP systems (SAP S/4 MM/PP) and BI tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead supply planning for engineer-to-order projects with 12–36+ month horizons
  • Implement Plan for Every Part for long-lead-time components and ensure accurate ERP parameters
  • Conduct what-if analyses for disruptions and develop contingency plans for capacity bottlenecks
  • Facilitate monthly Supply Review meetings and align with Demand Review and Integrated Reconciliation
  • Monitor KPIs (Supply Plan Accuracy, On-Time Delivery, Inventory Turns) and drive continuous improvement
  • Mentor planners and promote cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decisions

The opportunity:

Lead the end-to-end supply planning process framework, ensuring seamless integration between engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and logistics. Balance highly variable customer demand with constrained and dynamic supply capabilities, focusing on timely material availability for customized orders. Drive tactical and strategic planning to optimize service levels, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience in a complex, project-driven environment. Champion advanced analytics, scenario modeling, and digital tools to enable proactive, data-driven decision-making. Foster close collaboration with engineering, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support on-time project delivery and sustainability goals.

How you’ll make an impact:
  • You will lead supply planning for engineer-to-order projects, managing 12-36+ month horizons, develop and maintain capacity models and safety stock policies tailored to high-mix, low-volume production and engineering change variability.

  • You will implement "Plan for Every Part" with a focus on unique and long-lead-time components, maintain accurate ERP parameters and drive supplier collaboration to ensure timely material forecasts and availability for each engineered order.

  • You will conduct what-if analyses for disruptions (e.g., engineering changes, raw material shortages, supplier delays), develop contingency plans for capacity bottlenecks and supply chain shocks specific to ETO projects.

  • You will facilitate monthly Supply Review meetings focused on internal and external supply capability, and demand/supply balancing, prepare pre-read materials and document decisions, ensuring alignment with engineering and project management, champion the Supply Review process, ensuring alignment with Demand Review and Integrated Reconciliation, translate supply capability and constraints into project timelines, financial projections, and operational commitments.

  • You will monitor KPIs such as Supply Plan Accuracy, On-Time Delivery for ETO projects, Inventory Turns, and Asset Utilization, apply Lean and Six Sigma principles for continuous improvement, leverage ERP (SAP S/4), APS, and BI tools to enhance planning accuracy and responsiveness, explore automation and AI-driven planning tailored to ETO complexity.

  • You will mentor planners in best practices, promote a culture of cross-functional collaboration, agility, and data-driven decision-making.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
  • You hold a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is preferred.

  • 5 to 7 years in supply planning, material management, or S&OP preferably with experience of industrial equipment manufacturing.

  • Proven experience in capacity modeling, inventory optimization, and risk management. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP S/4 - MM, PP).

  • Strong analytical skills with tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel.

  • Certifications: CPIM or equivalent preferred.

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management.
