Job summary

Karadeniz Holding seeks a Global Tax Assistant Manager for its Holding Financial Affairs & Global Tax department at the Istanbul HQ. The role focuses on tax compliance, reporting, planning, and cross-border tax issues in a multinational context.

English proficiency and strong communication are essential. The candidate should have a CPA and a law degree or a Master’s in Tax, with at least four years in a multinational setting, and be able to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Advanced degree and CPA plus law or Masters in Tax preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in a multinational corporation with audit firm experience preferred.

We are looking for a “Global Tax Assistant Manager ” to be assigned to our ''Holding Financial Affairs & Global Tax'' department located in İstanbul HQ.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

• BS in Accounting or Finance requiredAdvanced degree and certification preferred (CPA and either a law degree or Masters in Tax)
• Minimum 4 years in a multinational corporation (Turkish multinationals preferred) following with a reputable audit firm experience ideally with international tax environment.
• Knowledge of internal control systems
• Understanding of international tax environment which govern cross-border transactions.
• Ability to quickly assess impacts of transactions in multiple tax jurisdictions.
• Ability to utilize tax technical knowledge and skills to analyze proposed and actual transactions quickly and accurately for tax and business issues.
• Excellent command of English in both speaking and writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to think and act proactively and strategically concerning tax matters.
• A strong personality who can adapt himself/herself to changing and dynamic working environment.
• No restrictions for travelling inside and outside of Turkey,
• No military obligation for male candidates.

WHAT AWAITS YOU?

Tax Performance:

• Assist to simplify tax compliance and reporting efforts.
• Following up the proposed and enacted tax legislation, keeping abreast of tax law changes in all jurisdictions and worldwide to identify potential planning opportunities or issues.

Compliance:

• Ensure all required returns, reports, and payments worldwide are timely and accurately filed and appropriately documented.
• Follow up and support the proper treatment and documentation of transactions in the International tax returns.
• Ensure all cross-border transactions and transfer pricing issues are properly documented and supported for tax filing purposes.

Audits:

• Follow up all audits and any settlements; monitor status of foreign audits and provide support for cross-border issues.
• Provide information on international operations.
• Follow up & support Karadeniz Holding response to inquiries from various tax authorities.

Research and Planning:

• Follow up & support tax planning strategies of the Group.
• Support the analysis of the tax impact of proposed transactions.
• Follow up & support tax issues related to international mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and expansion into new locations.

Accounting for Income Taxes

• Ensure calculation for tax expense and liabilities are accurate and comply with related external financial reports.
• Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures.
• Identify tax exposures and determine proper accounting and balance sheet amounts.
• Ensure taxes on international operations are adequately provided for in current and projected financial statements.
