Job summary

DeFacto is seeking a senior Warehouse Engineering Lead to drive concept-to-implementation of distribution center projects. You’ll design layouts, scale automation, and push continuous improvements across operations with cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires deep experience in warehouse engineering, strong leadership, and English fluency. On-site position with travel across regions and a focus on efficiency and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in warehouse engineering, logistics operations, distribution center projects or supply chain engineering, preferably in the apparel retail industry.
• Minimum 5 years of team management experience.
• Proven experience in warehouse design, layout optimization and material flow analysis.
• Experience in warehouse automation implementation projects (conveyors, sorters, ASRS, AMRs, shuttle systems, etc.).
• Experience in warehouse capacity expansion, retrofit and modernization projects.
• Strong knowledge of operational excellence, Lean methodologies and continuous improvement.
• Experience in productivity improvement and cost optimization projects.
• Ability to analyze warehouse processes and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Strong leadership, project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driving license (Class B) and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead warehouse engineering and infrastructure projects from concept to implementation.
• Design and optimize warehouse layouts to maximize capacity, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Manage warehouse automation implementation, expansion and modernization projects.
• Lead capacity increase and warehouse development initiatives.
• Analyze warehouse operations and identify opportunities for productivity, quality and cost improvements.
• Coordinate engineering activities with operations, IT, maintenance, procurement and external solution providers.
• Manage retrofit, refurbishment and relocation projects for existing distribution centers.
• Evaluate new warehouse technologies and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
• Define project scope, budget, timelines and resource plans, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Monitor project performance through KPIs and ensure sustainable operational improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using AI and industrial engineering methodologies.
