Job summary

Howden Türkiye is seeking a Financial Lines - Senior Manager/Associate Director to join our Istanbul office. You will manage and develop our Financial Lines portfolio, lead client relationships and oversee placement processes with local and international markets.

This senior role demands strong technical expertise, commercial acumen, and excellent negotiation and leadership skills, with responsibility for guiding junior team members and driving growth across our Financial Lines book.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, economics, finance, law, engineering or actuarial science.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in Financial Lines, corporate insurance, insurance broking or reinsurance.
• Strong technical knowledge of Financial Lines products (D&O, PI, Cyber, Crime, EPL).
• Experience with international markets and corporate client management.
• Fluent English, written and spoken; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of corporate Financial Lines clients (D&O, PI, Cyber, Crime, EPL).
• Lead renewal processes end-to-end and develop new business opportunities.
• Oversee placement with local and international markets; negotiate capacity, pricing, and terms.

At Howden Türkiye, we are currently looking for a Financial Lines - Senior Manager / Associate Director to join our Istanbul office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing our Financial Lines portfolio, leading client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and managing placement processes with local and international insurance and reinsurance markets.

This is a senior role that requires a combination of strong technical expertise, commercial acumen, client management capabilities and effective negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of corporate clients across Financial Lines, including D&O, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Crime, EPL and related products.
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients and lead renewal processes from end to end.
• Identify new business opportunities and lead business development and sales activities.
• Support sales and marketing activities by maintaining regular communication and coordination with existing and prospective clients.
• Prepare and coordinate client visit programmes for client development, product promotion and relationship management activities.
• Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date client information and ensure relevant records are properly followed up.
• Analyse clients' risk profiles and requirements and develop tailored insurance solutions.
• Lead the placement of Financial Lines risks with local and/or international insurance and reinsurance markets.
• Negotiate capacity, pricing, coverage and contractual terms with insurers and reinsurers.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of policy, endorsement, slip, quotation and other relevant documentation in line with agreed terms and conditions.
• Coordinate effectively with relevant Howden offices and internal teams involved in the placement process.
• Monitor market developments, emerging risks and product trends and translate these into value-added solutions for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Represent Howden in client meetings, presentations and relevant industry events.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members and contribute to the development of technical capabilities within the team.
• Collaborate with multiple teams across Howden and contribute to delivering added value to the wider Howden operation.
• Ensure agreed actions are followed through and completed on time; manage priorities effectively during peak periods and demonstrate flexibility when additional working hours are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Law, Engineering, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within Financial Lines, Corporate Insurance, Insurance Broking, Insurance or Reinsurance.
• Strong technical knowledge of Financial Lines products, including D&O, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Crime, EPL and related solutions.
• Strong understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance placement processes; international market experience is preferred.
• Proven experience in corporate client management and business development.
• Strong understanding of insurance companies, reinsurers and international insurance market dynamics.
• Ability to understand complex client requirements and translate them into effective insurance solutions.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
• Strong analytical, structured thinking, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded and results-oriented approach with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Diligent, detail-oriented, persistent and solution-focused, with a strong ability to follow through and complete tasks and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
• Excellent relationship management and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and functions.
• Strong command of MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including additional hours when required during peak periods.
