Job summary

Onkatec is seeking a Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our growing team in the IT sector. You will oversee day-to-day finance operations, issue invoices, reconcile accounts and support month-end closing.

Ideal candidates have a university degree in a related field and at least 2 years of experience in finance or accounting, with strong Excel and ERP software skills. Hybrid work arrangements are available in İzmit, Turkey.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day finance and bookkeeping operations; record transactions accurately
• Prepare and track sales invoices per contracts and service scopes
• Process invoices and archive documents
• Monitor customer and supplier accounts; perform reconciliations
• Process daily bank transactions and reconcilations
• Manage collections and payment scheduling
• Review credit card spending and document management
• Support cash flow, budgeting and monthly closings
• Coordinate with teams on tax and statutory accounting processes
• Track foreign currency transactions and international operations
• Maintain accurate financial records and resolve missing documents
• Collaborate across departments to improve financial processes

We’re looking for a Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our growing team, keep our finance and accounting operations orderly, accurate and efficient, and help us improve our processes.

What You’ll Do

• Run day-to-day finance and bookkeeping operations and record financial transactions accurately and on time
• Prepare and track sales invoices in line with customer contracts and service scopes
• Check purchase, sales and expense invoices, enter them into the relevant systems and archive them
• Track customer and supplier accounts and carry out reconciliations
• Check daily bank transactions and handle bank entries and reconciliations
• Follow up on collections and payments and prepare payment schedules
• Review company credit card spending and keep track of the related documents
• Support cash flow, income and expense, and budget tracking
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support month-end closing
• Coordinate with the relevant teams on tax, tax returns and other statutory accounting processes
• Support the tracking of foreign currency transactions and international financial operations
• Keep financial records accurate and close out missing documents and open reconciliations
• Work with internal departments and external stakeholders to help improve our financial processes

What We’re Looking For

• A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Finance, Accounting, Finance or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in finance and/or accounting operations
• A strong command of invoicing, account tracking, banking, collections and payments
• Hands-on experience with bookkeeping and financial documentation
• Knowledge of e-invoice (e-fatura), e-archive (e-arşiv) and e-ledger (e-defter) and the related regulations
• Experience using accounting and finance software
• Strong MS Office skills, especially advanced Excel
• Knowledge of financial reporting, cash flow tracking and reconciliation
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good planning, organization and time management
• Attention to detail, strong follow-through and a focus on results
• Comfortable taking ownership and following processes through from start to finish
• Communicates well with other departments and enjoys working in a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Finance and accounting experience in the technology, software or IT sector
• Experience with ERP systems and different accounting software
• Experience with financial transactions involving international customers and suppliers
• Familiarity with foreign currency invoicing, payments and reconciliation
• Knowledge of incentive and exemption processes under technopark and R&D legislation
• Experience in financial reporting and budgeting
• English good enough to follow financial documents and correspondence
