Job summary

SHEIN is seeking a Fabric Sourcing & Supplier Development professional in Türkiye to drive supplier evaluation, development, and cost management for a global fashion e-retailer.

The role will research and qualify fabric suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, oversee sample and bulk order processes, and coordinate quality control across domestic and international markets. Travel to supplier sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, Materials Science, or related field.
• Internship or work experience in textile, apparel, fabric trading is preferred.
• Understanding of fabric categories and specifications (GSM, width, color fastness).
• Basic knowledge of dyeing, printing, finishing processes is a plus.
• Strong communication and negotiation with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis for cost tracking and delivery monitoring.
• Willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites.

Responsibilities

• Research, identify, and evaluate potential fabric suppliers across domestic and international markets based on product development needs.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, including factory visits, capability assessments, sample quality reviews, and supplier performance follow-up.
• Build, maintain, and continuously update a qualified supplier database categorized by fabric type, MOQ, lead time, quality level, capacity, and pricing tier.
• Explore new fabric developments, sourcing opportunities, and potential suppliers through market visits, factory visits, and trade fairs.
• Negotiate fabric pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and delivery conditions to balance cost, quality and lead time.
• Conduct market price benchmarking across fabric categories to ensure competitive sourcing decisions.
• Track fabric cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Support internal teams with supplier quotations, cost comparisons, and commercial recommendations.
• Coordinate fabric sample development and approval processes, including lab-dips, strike-offs, and yardage submissions.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure samples meet required quality, color fastness, and specification standards.
• Monitor bulk fabric orders and ensure delivery timelines align with garment production schedules.
• Maintain delivery tracking records and escalate potential delays or supply issues.

About the Role

Fabric Sourcing & Supplier Development

• Research, identify, and evaluate potential fabric suppliers, including mills, traders, and converters, across domestic and international markets based on product development needs.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, including factory visits, capability assessments, sample quality reviews, and supplier performance follow-up.
• Build, maintain, and continuously update a qualified supplier database categorized by fabric type, MOQ, lead time, quality level, capacity, and pricing tier.
• Explore new fabric developments, sourcing opportunities, and potential suppliers through market visits, factory visits, and trade fairs.

Price Negotiation & Cost Management

• Negotiate fabric pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and delivery conditions to achieve the best balance between cost, quality, and lead time.
• Conduct market price benchmarking across fabric categories to ensure competitive sourcing decisions.
• Track fabric cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or performance.
• Support internal teams with supplier quotations, cost comparisons, and commercial recommendations.

Sample & Bulk Order Delivery Management

• Coordinate fabric sample development and approval processes, including lab-dips, strike-offs, and yardage submissions.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure samples meet required quality, color, hand-feel, construction, and specification standards.
• Monitor bulk fabric orders and ensure delivery timelines are aligned with garment production schedules.
• Maintain accurate delivery tracking records and proactively escalate potential delays, risks, or supply issues to relevant stakeholders.

Problem Solving & Quality Coordination

• Identify and assess fabric quality issues during incoming inspection and garment production, including hand-feel, appearance, construction, and performance-related concerns.
• Investigate the root causes of quality disputes between fabric suppliers and garment factories.
• Coordinate with suppliers, factories, quality teams, and internal stakeholders to develop fair, practical, and timely solutions.
• Support claim management and corrective action follow-up to minimize production disruption and commercial impact.

Business Travel & On-site Support

• Travel frequently to fabric markets, supplier factories, and garment production sites within Türkiye and, when required, internationally.
• Conduct on-site market research, supplier visits, factory assessments, and fabric development discussions.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, Materials Science, or a related field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Internship or work experience in textile, apparel, fabric mills, garment manufacturing, or trading companies is preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of common fabric categories, including woven fabrics, knit fabrics, denim, and functional fabrics.
• Basic knowledge of fiber composition and properties, including cotton, polyester, viscose, nylon, spandex, and blended materials.
• Ability to read and interpret fabric specifications such as GSM, width, shrinkage, color fastness, and pilling resistance.
• Familiarity with fabric dyeing, printing, and finishing processes is a plus.
• Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills when working with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
• Ability to identify fabric quality issues and support root-cause analysis in a logical and solution-oriented manner.
• Basic Excel and data analysis skills for cost tracking, delivery monitoring, and supplier performance evaluation.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple sample requests, supplier orders, and delivery schedules simultaneously.
• Proactive mindset with strong follow-through and escalation skills when deadlines or quality standards are at risk.
• Willingness to travel frequently for supplier visits, fabric market research, and production-site support.
• Working proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Chinese language skills are highly preferred.
