Job summary

EY Türkiye is seeking a VAT Refund Assistant to join our Tax – Indirect Tax Core team in Istanbul. You will prepare documentation for VAT refund processes, review compliance with tax legislation, monitor risk analyses, and support end-to-end refund files.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related fields, have 1–2 years of accounting or tax experience, and be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word with strong written and verbal

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in accounting and/or tax.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, client relationship management and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the required documentation and supporting schedules for VAT refund processes and reviewing their compliance with applicable tax legislation.
• Monitoring and following up on VAT Refund Risk Analysis Reports and deficiency notices.
• Performing the necessary reviews and controls related to VAT refund applications.
• Preparing and reviewing documentation required for taxpayers’ VAT refund applications, uploading the relevant documents to the system and supporting the end-to-end management of VAT refund files.
• Supporting the preparation of VAT Refund Certification Reports.
• Following up on procedures and correspondence with tax offices.

Your key responsibilities

• Preparing the required documentation and supporting schedules for VAT refund processes and reviewing their compliance with applicable tax legislation,
• Monitoring and following up on VAT Refund Risk Analysis Reports and deficiency notices,
• Performing the necessary reviews and controls related to VAT refund applications,
• Preparing and reviewing documentation required for taxpayers’ VAT refund applications, uploading the relevant documents to the system and supporting the end-to-end management of VAT refund files,

What We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or other related fields,
• 1–2 years of professional experience in accounting and/or tax,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word,
• Strong interest in developing a career in accounting and taxation,
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
• Strong interpersonal, client relationship management and problem-solving skills,
• Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills.
