Job summary

Diageo plc in Istanbul, Turkey, is seeking an experienced Expenses Accounting Manager to lead high-volume expense processes and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings. You will review GL accounts, journal entries, accruals, and provisions while ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and Diageo policies.

The role requires 5–8 years in accounting/financial reporting, Turkish GAAP knowledge, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5–8 years in accounting/financial reporting or similar finance roles.
• Experience in FMCG/manufacturing or high-volume transactions preferred.
• Previous people management experience preferred due to leadership duties.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish statutory accounting practices.
• Hands-on general accounting and monthly/year-end close experience.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
• Big Four audit experience is an advantage.
• CPA/ACCA/SMMM or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience in multinational/global organizations preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead expense accounting processes in a high-volume FMCG environment.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
• Review general ledger accounts, journal entries, accruals, and provisions.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and policies.
• Prepare and review reconciliations and balance-sheet items.
• Support leases, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Identify issues, escalate to senior management as needed.
• Support monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting processes.
• Contribute to ERP implementation, process improvements, and data quality.
