Job summary

S&P Global Energy seeks a Commercial Manager to develop client relationships and drive net sales growth across key markets and client segments within the Financial Services industry.

The role focuses on expanding the customer base, identifying new opportunities, and increasing subscription revenue through existing and new relationships, while managing commercial risk and ensuring accurate forecasting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant sales or commercial experience.
• Experience in energy, commodities, financial information, data, analytics desirable.
• Demonstrated interest in and understanding of global energy and commodities markets.
• Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills across full sales cycle.
• Strong client relationship management and delivering value.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Experience managing complex multinational client relationships desirable.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex commercial or contract negotiations.
• Strong planning and organisational skills; ability to prioritise and multitask.
• Ability to travel for work at least 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Consultative Sales, Negotiation and Customer Engagement; Manage and execute the end-to-end sales process to meet and exceed revenue targets.
• Strategy and Planning; Contribute to development and execution of the commercial strategy within territory or client segment; align with broader energy strategy.
• Reporting; Provide regular activity reporting and forecasting against pipeline performance and ACV, ensure CRM accuracy.
