This hands-on director role has no initial direct reports and requires influencing stakeholders, driving AI-driven transformation, and turning strategy into tangible outcomes that improve operations and growth.

We are looking for a Director of Strategy, Business Development & AI Transformation for our client, a leading company in the travel and tourism industry.

Working closely with the CEO / General Manager as a strategic partner, this person will shape and execute key business priorities, identify growth opportunities, and drive transformation across the organization.

This is a hands-on director-level role, initially without direct reports. Success will depend on the ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment across functions, and turn strategic decisions into tangible business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO / General Manager to define strategic priorities and translate them into actionable plans.
• Build alignment across leadership, internal teams, and external partners on objectives, ownership, and execution.
• Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, strategic partnerships, and new business models.
• Take ownership of cross-functional initiatives, coordinate stakeholders, resolve dependencies, and drive delivery.
• Shape the AI transformation agenda.
• Develop business cases, market analyses, and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
• Monitor progress and business impact, address execution gaps, and keep leadership informed of key risks and decisions.

What We Are Looking For

• Significant experience in strategy, business development, management consulting, or business transformation.
• A proven ability to lead complex initiatives and work effectively with CEOs and senior leadership teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and bring diverse teams together.
• Commercial judgment, analytical depth, and a hands-on approach to execution.
• A practical understanding of AI applications and their potential to improve operations, customer experience, and growth.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
• The confidence and independence to operate with limited structure, combined with sound judgment and strong follow-through.
• Fluency in English; experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, or consumer-facing businesses is an advantage.
