Job summary

SMF Textile is seeking a Denim Designer to develop original denim concepts and washes in Istanbul. The role requires preparing technical sketches, selecting fabrics and trims, and creating detailed design specs for sampling and production.

You will collaborate with product development, production, and merchandising to ensure design feasibility, quality, and cost-effectiveness, while reviewing fit samples and adjusting patterns as needed to stay aligned with brand goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in denim design, including wash/finish design, fabric selection, and trim detailing.
• Strong skills in technical drawing and understanding of garment construction.
• Ability to research and interpret fashion trends and market needs in denim.
• Experience in a fast-paced apparel/textile environment, preferably with denim products.

This full-time Denim Designer role at SMF Textile is an on-site position based in Istanbul. The Denim Designer will develop original denim concepts, washes, and styles aligned with brand identity and market trends. Responsibilities include creating technical sketches, selecting fabrics and trims, and preparing detailed design specifications for sampling and production. The role involves collaborating closely with product development, production, and merchandising teams to ensure design feasibility, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The Denim Designer will also review fit samples, make pattern and construction adjustments, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of denim innovations, sustainability practices, and global fashion trends.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in denim design, including concept development, wash and finish design, fabric selection, and trim detailing.
• Strong skills in technical drawing, garment construction understanding, and collaborating with pattern makers and production teams.
• Ability to research and interpret fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market needs within the denim segment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced apparel or textile environment, ideally with a focus on denim products

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
• Relevant education in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
