Job summary

BGTS International seeks a Senior Database Administrator (Cloud & On-Prem) to design, implement and support database environments across on‑premises, AWS and Microsoft Azure. You will manage Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL, ensure high availability, performance tuning and capacity planning, and oversee backup, recovery and security in hybrid architectures.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience, strong Linux/Unix scripting, and English communication skills for global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on database administration experience (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Hands-on MySQL administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Rac, Data Guard, OEM.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server clustering and Always On.
• Experience in backup/recovery, performance tuning, monitoring and capacity management.
• Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting.
• Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure in hybrid environments.
• Redis knowledge and operational experience.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch or NoSQL is a plus.
• Knowledge of database security, auditing and encryption preferred.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and manage database environments across on-premises, AWS and Azure.
• Perform administration and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL.
• Manage AWS data services including RDS, ElastiCache and DynamoDB.
• Manage Azure managed databases and Redis services: monitor, backup and availability.
• Administer and maintain Redis environments and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain Oracle GoldenGate replication and troubleshoot replication problems.
• Carry out clone, refresh, migration and data copy operations for non-prod environments.
• Monitor resources and define alerts and thresholds for proactive action.
• Design and validate backup, restore and recovery procedures for all environments.
• Support high availability, DR and BC across on-prem and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve performance issues via SQL tuning and indexing.
• Perform capacity planning and health checks; optimize resources.
• Support security, auditing, access management, encryption and compliance.
• Participate in patching, upgrades, migrations and cloud modernization.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for production databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in database administration, particularly with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Hands‑on experience with MySQL database administration.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Oracle ASM, RAC, Data Guard and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server clustering, Always On and high‑availability architectures.
• Experience in database backup/recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting and capacity management.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, preferably including cloud database and infrastructure services.
• Experience in managing databases in hybrid environments combining on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge and operational experience with Redis.
• Familiarity with technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and other NoSQL/database platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in Oracle GoldenGate and Exadata is a plus.
• Knowledge of database security, auditing, encryption and access management is preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and the ability to work proactively in a team environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure and manage database environments based on business requirements across on‑premises, AWS and Microsoft Azure platforms.
• Perform administration, maintenance, security, capacity management and performance optimization activities for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases running in on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Manage and support AWS database and data services, including Amazon RDS, Amazon ElastiCache and Amazon DynamoDB.
• Manage and support Microsoft Azure managed database and Redis services, including monitoring, backup, availability, performance and capacity management activities.
• Administer and maintain Redis environments and troubleshoot availability, performance and capacity‑related issues.
• Manage and maintain Oracle GoldenGate replication environments and troubleshoot replication‑related issues.
• Perform database clone, refresh, migration and data copy operations for development, test and other non-production environments.
• Monitor database, operating system and cloud service resources; define appropriate alerts, thresholds and monitoring mechanisms, and take proactive action when required.
• Design, implement and regularly validate database backup, restore and recovery procedures for both on‑premises and cloud database environments.
• Manage and support high availability, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions across on‑premises and cloud platforms.
• Work closely with software development and application teams to identify and resolve database performance issues through SQL tuning, indexing, partitioning, execution plan analysis and other optimization techniques.
• Perform proactive capacity planning, performance analysis, database health checks and resource optimization.
• Support database security, auditing, access management, encryption and compliance requirements.
• Participate in database patching, upgrades, migrations and cloud modernization projects.
• Troubleshoot database and cloud data platform incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Provide 24x7 on‑call support for business-critical production database and data platform services.
