Job summary

Kentkart in Konak, Turkey seeks an Oracle Database Administrator to maintain Oracle and MySQL environments, monitor performance, and support DR, patching, and security. You will collaborate with development, system, and operations teams to ensure high availability and reliable operations on Linux servers.

The role requires 3–4 years of DBA experience, hands-on Oracle 12c/19c, RAC/Data Guard, RMAN backups, SQL/PLSQL skills, and strong Linux expertise, with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in Oracle Database 12c and 19c administration.
• Hands-on Oracle RAC and Data Guard administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with RMAN backup and recovery operations.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL knowledge with performance tuning basics.
• Linux/Unix expertise and shell scripting abilities.
• Familiarity with Oracle WebLogic, VMware, Docker and Kubernetes is beneficial.
• Good English communication for international collaboration.

Job Description

• Installing, configuring, administering and maintaining Oracle and MySQL database environments
• Monitoring database availability, capacity and performance, and performing regular performance tuning activities
• Managing Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments
• Managing database backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes
• Performing database patching, upgrades and security hardening activities
• Troubleshooting database-related incidents and performing root cause analysis
• Supporting database design and implementation activities for new projects and product developments
• Preparing and maintaining documentation related to database standards, configurations and operational procedures
• Supporting database security requirements and taking part in the implementation of necessary security solutions
• Monitoring and improving database, cluster and backup environments
• Working closely with software development, system, infrastructure and operation teams
• Supporting Linux-based database servers and related system security activities
• Researching and implementing improvements to increase database availability, performance, reliability and operational efficiency

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field
• Good command of written and spoken English to work effectively in an international environment
• At least 3-4 years of experience in database administration
• Hands-on experience in Oracle Database 12c and 19c administration
• Experience in Oracle RAC and Data Guard administration, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Experience in Oracle ASM environments
• Experience in Oracle database backup and recovery operations, preferably using RMAN
• Experience in database performance monitoring and tuning, including AWR/ADDM reports, execution plans and wait event analysis
• Good knowledge of SQL and basic/intermediate knowledge of PL/SQL
• Experience in MySQL database administration
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
• Experience in shell scripting
• Knowledge of database security, patching, hardening and access management processes
• Experience in monitoring, capacity planning, cluster management and backup operations
• Experience with Oracle WebLogic is preferred
• Experience with VMware virtualization technologies is preferred
• Knowledge or experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with PostgreSQL database administration is a plus
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills
• Strong ownership, follow-up and result-oriented working approach
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
