Job summary

DFDS in Istanbul is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering chapter. You will build and maintain data pipelines, work with dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS, and collaborate with analysts, scientists and platform engineers to deliver reliable data for decision-making.

You will design data models, ensure data quality, and contribute to evolving our data platform. The team emphasizes diversity, ownership, and knowledge sharing across locations in Istanbul.

Qualifications

• Experience with data engineering tools such as dbt, Airflow, or similar.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and technologies such as Snowflake and AWS.
• Solid understanding of SQL and data modelling principles.
• Experience working with Python in a data engineering context.
• A good understanding of Power BI semantic models and the reporting/data-model layer.
• Knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices; hands-on experience is preferred.
• A willingness to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to engineering best practices.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• A willingness to take ownership of data pipelines and integrations from requirements gathering through to production.

DFDS is looking for a Data Engineer to join our Istanbul Data Engineering team, which is part of a diverse and dynamic Data Engineering chapter of 14 experienced colleagues from a range of backgrounds and nationalities, working across three different locations.

In This Role, You Will

As a Data Engineer at DFDS, you'll be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that builds and maintains the data infrastructure powering decision-making across the company. You will work closely with other data engineers, analysts, data scientists, platform engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and actionable.

You will work with a modern tech stack including dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS components such as S3.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using Airflow and dbt
