Job summary

DFDS Istanbul is seeking a Data Engineer to join a diverse Data Engineering chapter. You will build and maintain data pipelines, ensure data quality, and collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and platform engineers to enable reliable analytics.

The role requires strong SQL, Python, dbt/Airflow experience, and hands-on data modelling in Snowflake. You’ll work on modern cloud tools (AWS, S3) and contribute to our evolving data platform.

Qualifications

• Experience with data engineering tools such as dbt, Airflow, or similar.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and technologies such as Snowflake and AWS.
• Solid understanding of SQL and data modelling principles.
• Experience working with Python in a data engineering context.
• A good understanding of Power BI semantic models and the reporting/data-model layer.
• Knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices; hands-on experience is preferred.
• A willingness to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to engineering best practices.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• A willingness to take ownership of data pipelines and integrations from requirements gathering through to production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using Airflow and dbt.
• Develop and maintain data integrations, including ingestion from REST APIs.
• Design and optimize data models in Snowflake for analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across systems.
• Contribute to the evolution of our data platform and engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the chapter.
• Support the onboarding of new tools and technologies as we scale.
