Job Description Summary
The Automation & Digitalization Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting automation, robotics, and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on improving safety, quality, productivity, sustainability, and operational efficiency through the application of industrial automation, Industry 4.0 technologies, AI-enabled solutions, and data-driven manufacturing systems. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, IT/Digital Technology (DT), and external suppliers to deliver automation projects from concept through implementation while ensuring reliable and sustainable plant operations
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation, robotics, and digitalization solutions to improve manufacturing performance
- Lead automation and digital transformation projects from concept, engineering, commissioning, and handover to production
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring the reliability, optimization, and continuous improvement of automation systems
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, IT/Digital Technology, and external suppliers to deliver effective technical solutions
- Utilize Industry 4.0 technologies, industrial networking, AI-enabled applications, and data analytics to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, sustainability, and cost efficiency through automation and digital technologies
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for automation and control systems
- Ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards, cybersecurity requirements, and relevant safety regulations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating emerging technologies and promoting digital innovation across manufacturing operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical and/or electronics engineering, automation engineering, robotics engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience implementing industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI, SCADA, industrial instrumentation, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols including: Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA
- Knowledge of industrial databases and manufacturing data collection systems
- Good oral and written language skills in English
- Ability to live in Istanbul or Kocaeli

- Flexibility to support manufacturing operations outside standard working hours when required
