Job summary

CottGroup is seeking an Accounting Specialist to manage client accounting, tax compliance, and reporting. The role demands strong English proficiency, Turkish tax knowledge, and experience with ERP systems.

You will coordinate tax filings, prepare financial statements, and advise clients on accounting matters while maintaining KVKK standards and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA/SMMM certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in accounting/finance functions.
• Experience in accounting firms or consulting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish tax laws and Uniform Chart of Accounts.
• Understanding of SGK, Labor Law, VAT, and tax compliance.
• Proficient in ERP software and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Advanced English for business correspondence and client communication.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records in line with Turkish Tax Legislation.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual tax declarations and filings.
• Manage VAT, Withholding Tax, Stamp Tax, Provisional Tax, Corporate Tax, and Premium Service Declarations.
• Prepare and review monthly and period-end financial statements and reports.
• Prepare client-specific financial analyses and insights.
• Advise clients on accounting, tax, and reporting matters.
• Communicate with tax offices, SGK, and authorities.
• Support onboarding of new clients and transition of processes.
• Monitor changes in legislation and inform clients.
• Ensure KVKK compliance and internal quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with international and local clients in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA / SMMM) certification is preferred.

• Previous experience in accounting firms, independent audit firms, or consulting companies is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish Tax Legislation, the Uniform Chart of Accounts, accounting standards, and general accounting principles.
• Good understanding of tax regulations, Social Security Institution (SGK) practices, and Labor Law processes.
• Solid knowledge of inflation accounting and VAT refund procedures.

Job Description

• Ensure that accounting records of client companies are maintained accurately and timely in accordance with Turkish Tax Legislation and the Uniform Chart of Accounts.
• Coordinate the preparation, review, and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax declarations and statutory filings.
• Manage all tax compliance processes, including VAT, Withholding Tax, Stamp Tax, Provisional Tax, Corporate Tax, and Premium Service Declarations.
• Prepare and review monthly and period-end financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, trial balances, and management reports.
• Prepare and present client-specific financial reports, analyses, and insights.
• Analyze financial data and provide professional guidance to clients on accounting, tax, and reporting matters.
• Maintain effective communication with tax offices, SGK, and other relevant public authorities regarding accounting and tax-related procedures.
• Support the onboarding of new clients and the implementation or transition of accounting processes and systems.
• Monitor changes in accounting, tax, and social security legislation, ensure necessary implementations, and proactively inform clients.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with internal quality standards, information security policies, and Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) requirements.
• Communicate effectively with international and local clients in English and prepare professional business correspondence when required.
