Zimmer Biomet, a global medical technology leader, invites an Accountant to join a 12-month maternity cover in Istanbul. The hybrid role supports month-end close, general accounting, and reporting while collaborating with the wider finance team.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in accounting, strong English, and familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS. The position offers a hybrid work model from our Istanbul office.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close and general accounting support.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and research reconciling items.
• Ensure close activities are completed and books closed per the close calendar.
• Maintain statutory records and participate in audit preparation.
• Execute SOX controls and compliance reporting; support ad-hoc projects.

What You Can Expect

12 month Materinity cover - Hybrid model - 3 days onsite in our modern Istanbul Office in Halkalı, Küçükçekmece, a well-connected business district on the European side of Istanbul

The Accountant has responsibility for performing various reporting and accounting duties including assisting in month end close process and providing general accounting support to the team.

How You'll Create Impact

• Perform RTR processes and activities, including:
  • Period End Close: Closing the general ledger, posting adjusting journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting and reviews and approvals.
  • Financial and External Reporting.
  • Intercompany Processing and Reconciliation.
  • Additional General Accounting.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations as assigned, research and resolve reconciling items.
• Ensure all close activities are complete, signed off on, and books are closed per established close calendar.
• Maintains Statutory records and participate in Statutory audit preparation, ensures all compliance objectives are met.
• Prepares data for Tax audits
• Execute requirements for SOX controls and compliance reporting, and manage review process.
• Support process improvements, technology implementations, and automations to streamline the efficiency and effectiveness of the Company.
• Support ad-hoc projects and reports.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s Degree required and 3+ years of experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP and other regional and global accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, IASB).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
