We are currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Vice President, Legal - Managed investments, Mutual Funds, and Insurance - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Associate Gen Counsel - C14) based in Changi Business Park, Singapore. The Associate General Counsel is a senior management-level position responsible to manage and direct day-to-day legal activities in coordination with the Legal team. The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice, and guidance across a broad range of practice areas. This role will report to the head of legal for Citi Managed Investments (discretionary accounts) and Mutual Funds, and Insurance for North and South Asia Clusters, Wealth.

In this role, you're expected to:

• Advise the business on Citi Managed Investments (discretionary accounts) and Mutual Funds and other related matters.
• Assist in providing advice to the Insurance business.
• Be a subject matter expert in the legal issues relating to the distribution of offshore mutual funds, (including in the areas of: -subscription agreements, offering documents and distribution agreements, post-investment asset management, dispute resolution, corporate governance. )
• Knowledge of regulations in the funds space is critical.
• Participate in strategic planning and development and contribute to business objectives by utilizing knowledge of industry, laws, and regulations.
• Partner with business/functional line management in recommending, developing, and executing business initiatives within permissible statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Manage day-to-day legal activities, serving as a subject matter expert in area of responsibility and provide senior advisory services to business partners.
• Negotiate, coordinate and monitor management of complex legal issues and make key decisions within area of responsibility.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

• Must have experience in issues relating to the distribution of various families of funds.
• Must also support the Insurance business on the distribution of insurance products.

As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• PQE of a minimum of 10 years, up to 20 years
• Minimum 10 years of experience in issues relating to the distribution of various families of funds in Managed investments & Mutual funds.
• Banking experience or experience in a large law firm in advising financial institutions/ financial products including mutual funds/distribution of securities and insurance products.
• Comprehensive knowledge of laws and practices including SFA and FAA
• Proven analytical and organizational skills.
• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Bar license in good standing to practice law
• Bachelor's/University degree in Law
• Master's degree preferred.
