Job description

This position is a strategic and analytical role within WSI’s Global Inventory Management team, responsible for planning and purchasing for our stores and websites. The role involves developing and executing demand forecasting and inventory management to optimize inventory, maximize sales and profitability, and support business initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Pre-Season Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the merchant team to develop financial plans supporting brand strategies.
  • Establish seasonal assortment plans, ensuring the right balance of inventory for new and core products.
  • Analyze business performance and SKU productivity to inform pre-season strategies.
  • Coordinate SKU plans to meet PO deadlines and resolve issues impacting these timelines.
In-Season Responsibilities:
  • Review business performance and collaborate with merchants to maximize sales, margins, and inventory productivity.
  • Develop monthly financial forecasts aligned with brand strategies.
  • Analyze inventory levels to support brand goals and minimize stockouts.
  • Plan promotional activities and manage SKU-level demand forecasts.
  • Oversee purchase order placement and tracking, addressing any fallout.
  • Collaborate on allocation parameters and logistics to support promotions and seasonal events.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
  • Provide analytical reporting and recommend process improvements.
  • Build strong cross-functional collaborations to meet organizational goals.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment.
Desirable Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Diploma/Degree with 2-5 years’ experience in a role with analytical/strategic responsibilities, preferably in retail.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of retail financial metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; PowerBI preferred.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and a good team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; international experience is a plus.
