Job summary

Soitec is seeking a System Owner for UPW and Wastewater facilities to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of water treatment systems without compromising production quality.

You will coordinate maintenance with contractors, lead process improvement projects, and manage budgets while ensuring regulatory compliance and ongoing SOP/Risk Assessment updates.

Qualifications

• Experience with UPW system and Wastewater system is mandatory.
• Engineering degree; Diploma may be considered based on experience.
• Awareness of NEA and PUB regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• Water Efficiency Manager certification is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own the UPW system and oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance to maximise uptime and reliability.
• Own the Wastewater system and ensure zero quality-related production impacts.
• Coordinate CM/PM programs with contractors/vendors and ensure timely execution.
• Drive engineering projects including water-saving strategies, upgrades, and capacity expansions.
• Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets for operations, maintenance and projects.
• Develop and review SOPs and Risk Assessments; prepare RCA reports and CAPA actions.

Job description

This role is to be the system owner of UPW and waste water system.

What does the job consist?

• Undertake ownership of UPW System.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of the UPW system and other water treatment systems to maintain maximum equipment uptime and reliability, while ensuring zero quality-related impacts to production.
• Coordinate and liaise with internal and external contractors/ vendors to implement corrective maintenance (CM) and preventive maintenance (PM) programs, ensuring they are carried out in a timely manner.
• Drive, evaluate, plan, develop, and execute engineering projects and solutions, including water-saving strategies, system upgrades, process improvements, retrofits, and system expansions, while ensuring compliance with water quality standards and specifications.
• Manage third-party vendors, specialised water-treatment contractors, and equipment manufacturers during plant shutdowns or maintenance routines.
• Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets for operations, maintenance, and projects.
• Study and continuously review UPW capacity to ensure it meets projected demand over the next five years, and develop improvement and expansion plans accordingly.
• Author, review, and maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Risk Assessments (RAs) for operations and maintenance.
• Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for near misses, equipment failures, or production interruptions, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.

• Study and continuously review Wastewater treatment capacity to ensure it meets projected demand over the next five years, and develop improvement and expansion plans accordingly.
• Author, review, and maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Risk Assessments (RAs) for operations and maintenance.
• Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for near misses, equipment failures, or production interruptions, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure that all discharge water systems comply with regulatory specifications
• Schedule and issue consignment notes for Toxic Industrial Waste (TIW) collections through the National Environment Agency (NEA) e-Tracking system.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Eng Degree, Diploma may be considered based on experience.
• Experience with UPW system and Wastewater system are mandatory.
