Job summary

Skylink Holdings Limited seeks a Workshop Supervisor to manage daily vehicle workshop operations, plan and monitor fleet servicing, and lead a team of mechanics. You will allocate tasks, track progress, and ensure work meets quality and safety standards for vans, lorries, and fleet vehicles.

The role requires hands-on experience in commercial vehicle repair, prior supervisory exposure, and strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems. A proactive, safety-conscious leader is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in commercial vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Prior supervisory or team-leader experience in an automotive workshop.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lead a team and ensure safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations to ensure timely repair and maintenance.
• Plan, assign and monitor servicing, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics for fleet vehicles.
• Lead technicians, allocate jobs based on manpower, capability and priority.
• Monitor repair progress and ensure completion per schedule.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance for diagnosing vehicle issues.
• Inspect completed work and conduct quality checks before release.
• Ensure preventive maintenance adheres to schedules to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate with Workshop Manager, administration, operations, drivers and other departments.
• Coordinate with parts team on spare parts to avoid delays.
• Ensure job orders, inspection checklists and service reports are updated.
• Maintain safe, clean workshop environment and enforce safety procedures.
• Ensure proper use and safekeeping of tools, equipment and assets.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the commercial vehicle workshop to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of repair and maintenance jobs.

• Plan, assign and monitor servicing, preventive maintenance, repair and diagnostic work for commercial vehicles, including vans, lorries, trucks and other fleet vehicles.

• Lead and supervise technicians, allocating daily jobs based on manpower availability, technical capability and job priority.

• Monitor vehicle repair and servicing progress and ensure jobs are completed according to the required schedule.

• Provide hands‑on technical guidance and support to technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and other vehicle‑related issues.

• Inspect completed repair and maintenance work and conduct quality checks before vehicles are released.

• Ensure preventive maintenance and servicing are carried out according to recommended schedules and company requirements to minimise vehicle downtime.

• Coordinate closely with the Workshop Manager, workshop administration, operations team, drivers and relevant departments on vehicle status, job priorities and operational requirements.

• Coordinate with the parts team on spare parts and materials required for workshop jobs to prevent unnecessary repair delays.

• Ensure job orders, inspection checklists, service reports, repair records and other workshop documentation are properly completed and updated.

• Ensure proper use, maintenance and safekeeping of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, machinery and company assets.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment and ensure technicians comply with workplace safety procedures, company policies and relevant safety requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant hands‑on experience incommercial vehicle repair and maintenance, preferably involving vans, lorries, trucks or fleet vehicles.

• Prior supervisory, team leader or senior mechanic experience in an automotive workshop would be preferred.

• Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on working approach.

• Good leadership skills with the ability to supervise, guide and manage a team of mechanics and technicians.

• Familiar with workshop safety procedures, tools, equipment and diagnostic systems.

• Possession of a valid Singapore driving licence, particularlyClass 3/4, would be an advantage.
