Job summary

Kappo Shunsui in the Orchard area is seeking a motivated Western Chef to join our restaurant team. You will lead the Western hot kitchen section under the Head Chef and contribute to daily kitchen operations.

With at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience, you will follow recipes, maintain quality and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Training, staff meals, and opportunities for career progression are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional kitchen experience.
• Experience in Western cuisine or Western hot kitchen is preferred.
• Basic cooking and knife skills.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Responsible, reliable and willing to learn.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to work weekends and public holidays.
• Food hygiene certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily preparation and cooking for the Western hot kitchen section.
• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
• Handle daily mise en place and ingredient preparation.
• Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and portioning.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen team members.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.
• Assist with stock preparation, storage and inventory.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Support other kitchen duties when required.
