Job summary

YTC SHIPYARD PTE. LTD. is seeking a detail-oriented Welding Inspector to review technical documents, WPS, and ITPs. You will inspect materials, verify welder qualifications, and ensure conformance with procedures before welding begins.

The role requires knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API standards, and ABS rules, plus strong communication skills and teamwork within a shipyard environment. Prior NDT awareness is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Certification as Welding Inspector required or equivalent (CWI/CSWIP).
• Experience interpreting welding symbols and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API, ABS).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead small teams.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review technical documents, blueprints, WPS, and ITPs.
• Inspect base materials and welding consumables for specs and certification.
• Verify welder qualifications and maintain records.
• Conduct fit-up inspections and monitor preheating per procedures.
