Job summary

CFE Engineers Asia Pte Ltd is seeking an QA/QC assistant to support project success by ensuring quality across welding and NDT activities. You will coordinate with production teams, surveyors and customers to verify standards and prepare accurate documentation.

The role requires familiarity with steel materials, welding processes and testing methods, plus strong communication skills to engage with personnel at all levels. Transport is preferred for site visits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience in steel fabrication or related industries.
• Welding inspector certification such as AWS or CSWIP preferred to enhance credibility.
• Familiarity with steel materials, welding processes, NDT and destructive testing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist QA/QC Manager in quality assurance and control activities for projects.
• Conduct welding inspections and NDT to verify specification compliance.
• Coordinate quality work with production teams, class surveyors and customers.
• Prepare quality records and reports after job completion for review.
• Support ISO quality audits in collaboration with Management Committee.

Job description

• Assist the QA/QC Manager in quality assurance and control activities to support project success
• Conduct detailed inspections on welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to verify compliance with specifications
• Coordinate quality work and specifications with production teams, class surveyors, and customers to ensure standards are met
• Prepare accurate quality records and reports on products and projects after job completion for documentation and review
• Monitor and support ISO quality audits in collaboration with the Management Committee to maintain certification standards
• Prepare and submit documentation required for client approval to facilitate project progress
• Inspect incoming goods and perform final inspections before delivery to ensure product quality and compliance
• Identify and report non-conforming products promptly to initiate corrective actions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar QA/QC role within steel fabrication or related industries
• Welding inspector certification such as AWS, CSWIP, or equivalent preferred to enhance inspection credibility
• Familiarity with steel materials, welding processes, and testing methods including NDT and destructive testing
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with personnel at all organizational levels
• Possession of own transport preferred to facilitate site visits and inspections
