Job summary

Yeng Tong Construction Pte Ltd seeks a seasoned welding inspection professional to review technical docs, blueprints and WPS/ITP for marine projects. You will inspect materials, verify welder qualifications and coordinate NDT reporting to ensure compliance with ABS and other standards.

The role requires shipyard experience, strong communication and leadership, and meticulous documentation of non-conformities and final dossiers for clients.

Qualifications

• Understanding of welding techniques SMAW, FCAW, TIG.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API standards, ABS rules.
• Strong attention to detail and leadership potential.
• Experience in shipyard environments and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review technical documents, blueprints, WPS and ITP.
• Inspect base materials and welding consumables for specs, certs and traceability.
• Verify welder qualifications and maintain certification records.
• Conduct fit-up inspections and verify joint prep and preheating.
• Monitor welding processes to ensure correct parameters and techniques.
• Perform visual and dimensional checks on welds for defects.
• Coordinate and review NDT reports (VT, MT, PT, UT, RT).
• Prepare inspection reports, NCRs and final client dossiers.
• Promote adherence to shipyard safety and quality procedures.
