Job summary

ASCEND ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD.

is seeking a Construction/Ship Inspector to oversee on-site inspections of welding, piping, fabrication and installation, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures and quality standards. Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Marine/Civil/Electrical Engineering or related discipline, with 2–5 years of inspection experience and knowledge of drawings, inspection procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in mechanical, marine, civil or electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Certifications in inspection (CSWIP, AWS, NDT, API or similar) are advantageous.
  • 2–5 years of relevant inspection or site experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of technical drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Good communication, reporting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction, fabrication, welding, piping and installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specs and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site and onboard inspections at different stages of work.
  • Verify materials, equipment and workmanship before and during installation.
  • Monitor welding and fabrication activities including fit-up, alignment, dimensions and visual inspection.
  • Inspect piping installation, pressure testing and related activities where applicable.
  • Identify defects and non-conformities and report to supervisor or management.
  • Ensure rectification work is completed and re-inspected.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, records and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager, Supervisors, Engineers, clients and other parties.
  • Attend inspections, meetings and audits as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with QHSE requirements.

Job description

We are looking for Construction/Ship Inspector.
  • Inspect construction, fabrication, welding, piping, and installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager, Supervisors, Engineers, clients, and other relevant parties.
  • Attend inspections, meetings, and audits when required.
  • Ensure all work complies with company Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental (QHSE) requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Alternatively, relevant technical certification with practical experience in construction, shipbuilding, ship repair, welding, fabrication, or piping works.
  • Preferably 2-5 years of relevant inspection or site experience.
  • Knowledge of technical drawings, specifications, inspection procedures, and quality standards.
  • Experience in welding, piping, fabrication, or structural works is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSWIP, AWS, NDT, API, or other inspection-related certifications are an advantage, depending on the scope of work.
  • Good communication, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with different teams.
