About the role
The Warehouse Manager/Supervisor is responsible for creating a high-performing culture focused on continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence at our Singapore facility. This role aims to exceed both internal and external customer expectations by developing and maintaining efficient, productive processes. Effective cross-functional collaboration is crucial for leading the team toward achieving company goals. Strategic thinking and tactical agility are essential skills for success in this position.
Key responsibilities
- Provides strategic leadership and direction for a fast-moving, customer-focused distribution center to enable growth and profitability
- Works as a member of a cross-functional team including Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Continuous Improvement professionals to set strategy and optimize operational processes
- Assures optimum utilization of equipment, raw materials and labor
- Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations, cost factors, and customer service
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate problems and improve quality
- Solves problems related to production and operations to minimize costs and delay
- Analyze cost savings or cost reduction opportunities and implement, as appropriate
- Ensure that all employees follow best operations and safety practices daily by maintaining a safe and secure work environment
- Ensures that employees and production practices are in compliance with ISO standards and other Quality Standards
- Builds High Performance teams by recruiting, training, and developing subordinates as well as setting expectations and goals that align with IEWC's Strategic Plan and Operations' strategy
- Communicates with other key leaders to ensure proper material and product handling, maintenance, accounting, and inventory control activities and procedures
- Ensures that managers and their supervisors are trained properly and have established developmental plans for all direct and indirect reports. Conducts annual performance assessments for direct reports
- Builds High Performance teams by recruiting, training, and developing subordinates as well as setting expectations and goals that align with IEWC's Strategic Plan and Operations' strategy
- Maintains disciplinary procedures in accordance with IEWC policy
- Conducts Root Cause Analysis and issues corrective actions to prevent the reoccurrence of issues affecting manufacturing performance
- Fosters Innovation and Continuous Improvement by leading and driving the continuous improvement activities within manufacturing
- Participates in the development of the annual financial and operating plans
- Operates and performs within the parameters of the financial and operating plans and analyzes and explains variances to it.
- Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, records and documentation
Supplies, Equipment and Plant
- Ensure that adequate supplies, materials and parts are on hand to keep the Distribution Center operating smoothly.
- Ensures the performance of minor maintenance, repairs, and calibration of Distribution Center equipment and machinery
- Notify the Vice President - Operations of major problems with regard to equipment, machinery, buildings and grounds.
- Re-calibrate Distribution Center equipment, as needed.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain compliance with our Quality Management Systems
- Understand and ensure Company compliance with UL and C S A product requirements.
Customer Service
- Work with all Company departments to ensure customer satisfaction and new opportunities for business and product growth.
Human Resources
- Establish an environment where all Distribution Center employees are treated fairly, with dignity and respect, where they feel empowered to perform and grow, and where they are motivated to work as a team to help fulfill the Distribution Center’s and the Company’s Operating Plan.
- In consultation with Human Resources, complete the establishment of job descriptions, hiring, training and development, goal setting and evaluation, compensation and rewards, promotions, discipline and termination of all Distribution Center employees.
- In consultation with Human Resources, resolve conflicts and address complaints that arise among Distribution Center employees.
- Ensure the creation and completion of direct reports EPP, this includes DC Shift Managers, Supervisors, Leads, Trainers, and DC Operators.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Education and/or Experience: 2+ years of post high school education and 3+ years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Experience with continuous improvement or lead manufacturing with be highly advantageous.
- Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: A valid driver’s license.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer Applications Skills: Ability to work in a Windows environment, to work with your department’s business applications and with standard current computer applications.
