Role Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for end-to-end warehouse, logistics and inventory management, with a strong emphasis on inventory planning, stock optimization and cost control.
This role requires a hands‑on leader who is comfortable balancing strategic planning with day-to-day execution. During manpower constraints or peak periods, the Manager is expected to roll up sleeves and support warehouse operations directly, while continuing to lead, prioritize and make sound operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Planning & Control
- Own overall inventory health across raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
- Analyse historical data, sales trends and production plans to forecast inventory needs, particularly ahead of peak sales periods.
- Set and manage reorder points, safety stock levels and inventory ageing controls.
- Proactively identify overstock, slow‑moving and obsolete items and implement corrective actions.
- Drive inventory‑related cost savings through improved turnover, space utilization and reduction of write‑offs.
- Oversee cycle counts and stock takes to ensure high inventory accuracy.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, put‑away, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
- Be operationally present on the warehouse floor, especially during peak demand and / or manpower shortages.
- Step in to support execution when required, while maintaining oversight of priorities and standards.
- Ensure efficient warehouse layout, storage methods and material flow.
- Enforce SOPs for handling, labelling and traceability.
Logistics & Distribution
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics in line with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics and transport partners to ensure timely and cost‑effective deliveries.
- Resolve delivery issues quickly and pragmatically to minimize operational disruption.
Sourcing & Procurement
- Support the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging and other operational requirements, ensuring competitive pricing, appropriate quality and timely availability.
- Evaluate and coordinate with suppliers, including obtaining quotations, comparing lead times and commercial terms, and maintaining reliable supply sources.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and alternative / backup suppliers while ensuring procurement decisions are aligned with inventory requirements, production plans and company policies.
Manpower & Team Management
- Lead, manage and develop the warehouse and logistics team.
- Optimize manpower deployment, shift planning and task allocation based on workload and demand fluctuations.
- Balance productivity and cost, minimizing unnecessary overtime while meeting service levels.
- Coach team members through example, particularly during high‑pressure periods.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Use inventory systems / WMS to track stock movement, productivity and performance.
- Analyse operational data and KPIs to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Implement practical process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy and cost control.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain appropriate storage and handling standards in line with manufacturing and quality requirements.
- Promote a disciplined, safety‑first culture within the warehouse.
- Any other duties as required by Management.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related discipline.
- With at least 5–8 years of warehouse and logistics experience in manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical or similar environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience in inventory planning, forecasting and stock optimization.
- Proven experience managing warehouse teams while remaining actively involved in operations when required.
- Possess strong business acumen with a clear understanding of inventory cost impact.
- Hands‑on, adaptable and comfortable working on the warehouse floor when needed.
- Strong leadership presence with experience in managing warehouse operations.

KPI FOR WAREHOUSE & LOGISTICS MANAGER
Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Maintain ≥ 98–100% inventory accuracy(system vs physical)
- Resolve all existing stock discrepancies within 3–6 months
- Conduct monthly cycle counts with variance ≤ 0.5%
- Ensure full traceability of all inventory movements
Stock Availability & Planning
- Achieve 0 Out-of-Stock (OOS) for critical raw materials
- Maintain ≥ 95–98% stock availability across all SKUs
- Implement and maintain reorder points, safety stock and forecasting system
- Ensure no production disruption due to inventory shortage
Operational Accuracy (Zero Error Mindset)
- Maintain ≤ 1% error rate (picking, packing, delivery)
Target: 0% for critical items)
- Ensure 100% root cause analysis &corrective action for all errors
- Implement process improvements to eliminate recurring issues
ERP & Process Optimization
- Achieve full ERP / WMS adoption across warehouse operations
- Implement 2–3 process or system improvements within first 6 months
- Reduce manual processes and duplication by ≥ 20%
Service Level & Operational Efficiency
- Achieve ≥ 98% on‑time fulfilment /dispatch rate
- Maintain smooth coordination with Production, QA and Sales
- Minimize operational delays attributable to warehouse/logistics
Vendor & Supply Reliability
- Maintain ≥ 95% supplier on‑time delivery performance
- Establish backup suppliers for key materials
- Improve and monitor lead time consistency and reliability
Reporting& Data Visibility
- Establish weekly & monthly dashboards covering:
- Inventory levels & ageing
- Stock movement & turnover
- Error rates & OOS risks
- Ensure reports are accurate, timely and actionable
- Provide clear data to support decision‑making
Team Performance & Capability
- Build a stable, accountable and cross‑trained team
- Eliminate single point dependency in key functions
