Ambition Singapore is hiring a VP of Software Engineering in Singapore to lead multiple software teams responsible for business-critical applications and architectural decisions. You will stay closely involved in technical design and drive delivery across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams in a large or complex organisation.
• Strong Java background and ability to discuss system design in detail.
• Experience designing or improving distributed applications and APIs.
• Understanding of software delivery, automated testing, CI/CD and production operations.
• Balance delivery needs with reliability, security and maintainability.
• Experience developing engineers and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple software engineering teams and ensure quality, reliability, and delivery.
• Define priorities with business and technology stakeholders.
• Guide system design and architecture decisions.
• Support development and improvement of applications and platforms, address technical debt.
• Strengthen engineering practices across development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Develop team capability via hiring, coaching and performance management.
• Respond to production issues and identify lasting improvements.
• Communicate delivery progress, technical risks, and investment needs to senior stakeholders.
