Job summary

Pacific Life Re is seeking a VP, Protection, India to lead front-office activities for the India market, reporting to Asia Protection leadership. The role is based in Singapore and involves shaping strategy and coordinating with Pricing, Underwriting and Claims, while representing the group with clients and regulators.

You will drive market strategy, develop onshore presence, mentor teams, ensure governance, and align with global risk appetite while maintaining strong client relationships across

Qualifications

• Deep experience in operating in market facing role(s) in (re)insurance.
• Strong understanding of pricing and capital bases in reinsurance.
• Ability to set and deliver strategies in a challenging environment.
• Proven ability to make high-quality decisions under ambiguity.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence at all levels.
• Proven senior executive experience managing a substantial unit in reinsurance/insurance/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of risk frameworks and controls.
• Familiarity with evolving regulatory landscapes.
• Proven track record delivering major strategic change programmes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate market strategy aligned to global protection strategy.
• Implement market strategy with clear plans and accountability.
• Foster collaboration with DBS, UnderwriteMe, and Strategic Analytics.
• Grow Pacific Life Re and UnderwriteMe brand as an executive face.
• Ensure governance and internal controls to guard against operational risk.
• Promote a culture of risk management and proactive issue resolution.
• Ensure regulatory requirements of Singapore entity and India are met.
