VP Agriculture Underwriter – APAC & Reinsurance Growth

Job summary

Swiss Re Singapore is seeking a highly experienced agriculture underwriter at VP level to drive underwriting, pricing and development of agricultural reinsurance treaties and new schemes across Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia and ANZ.

In this role you will originate opportunities, lead pricing, and collaborate with private and public sector partners to strengthen the agriculture portfolio while supporting internal stakeholders and markets in APAC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-8 years relevant work experience in insurance or reinsurance underwriting/calibration. Knowledge of agriculture in Asia is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders in agriculture business.
• Self-motivation and ability to work in an agile team environment.
• Analytical skills with ability to solve technical issues pragmatically.
• Proficiency in data analytics and pricing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to global agriculture portfolio strategy with focus on new opportunities.
• Underwrite, cost, and price agricultural reinsurance renewals and new deals in line with guidelines.
• Develop new agricultural schemes with private sector partners and public sector entities.
• Maintain and develop client relationships, portfolio steering and client management.
• Originate and manage relationships with insurers, brokers, and government entities where applicable.
• Contribute to technical studies, publications, and training for clients.
